Hobart’s Hit100.9 today announced that Dan & Christie will be the station’s brand-new breakfast show from Monday, May 23 as The Jimmy & Nath Show moves to the Late Nights timeslot in addition to their Weekend Breakfast show on the Hit Network.

Familiar Tassie radio jock Dan Taylor and radio announcer Christie Hayes will wake up Hobartians each weekday morning as Hobart’s own Jimmy Smith and Nath Roye’s success sees the pair move to a national timeslot from 9-11pm weeknights and Weekend Breakfast.

Passing on the weekday breakfast show baton on Hit100.9, Nath said: “The Hobart airwaves have been some of the sweetest we will ever ride, we’ve laughed, we’ve cried we’ve not shut up for five years off and on the air.

“We are pumped to take our gnarly Jimmy and Nath radio surfboard to the national airWAVES and hang 10 with the country, kawabunga!...We don’t surf so we hope this metaphor makes sense, if not we sincerely apologise to all surfers who read this, please still listen.” said Nath.

“Nothing will compare to our time in Hobart, and it will always be home. Our listeners have become family and we can’t thank them enough for their support over the past four years. We’ll still be with them on Hit100.9 and hope to give the mainland what they gave us!” said Jimmy.

Dan Taylor is no stranger to Hit100.9, having started his successful radio career on the station back in the early 2000s. He returns home to Hit100.9 from his most recent gig hosting Launceston’s #1 radio breakfast show on Chilli FM.

“To return to the place I began my radio journey is truly a dream come true. Christie and I can’t wait to become the ultimate warriors of Hobart and share our show with Hobartians,” said Dan.

Christie Hayes grew up on Australian television and is best known for spending more than a decade playing Kirsty on Home & Away. Christie’s career led her to radio which saw her host breakfast radio on Illawarra’s i98FM for more than four years.

“Hobart is a place that has always been special to me with my family lineage, I am so excited for our listeners to wake up with us and deliver an engaging breakfast show, designed for them,” said Christie.

“We are such fans of Jimmy and Nath and honoured to receive the keys to the city from the boys. I’m also delighted to raise my family on this beautiful island I have always wanted to call home.”

SCA Hobart Content Director, Phil Bradley, said: “It’s great to have Dan back home where his radio career started, and paired with Christie, the city will love to wake up every day with a show made especially for Hobartians.”

Listen to the brand news Dan & Christie show from 6-9am weekdays from Monday, May 23 and The Jimmy & Nath Show from 9-11pm weeknights and 7-9am weekends from Monday, June 20 on Hobart’s Hit100.9 or via the free LiSTNR app.
