Triple M’s Head of Production, Brendan Tacey “BT” has been selected as a finalist in the 8th Annual Iron Imager Contest overnight.

Iron Imager is an international radio imaging contest where audio production professionals compete for the title of World’s Best Imager, the only contest of its kind.

BT’s entry was a piece that was inspired by a sketch he’d done in the past for Radio Chaser. “I had the idea to tie the sketch into the Triple M Product and create what became my entry for the competition, he said.

“After coming runner up for the last 2 years, it’s awesome to have been selected as this year’s contender for the title of Iron Imager.”

Triple M’s Head of Content Mike Fitzpatrick said, “We are well aware of the extraordinary work that is produced by BT and our production team here at Triple M on a daily basis, but being nominated as one of two finalists in a world-wide competition further highlights that we have the best in the world creating content for us!”

“Our very own Mike ‘Sideshow’ Anderson took out this award in 2016, so to have two finalists in three years is outstanding! On behalf of Triple M, I congratulate BT on his nomination and wish him all the best for a few weeks’ time.”

The title is currently held by Sam Wickens of Capital Radio London, who has once again been nominated to defend his title. The two finalists will compete in a head-to-head live competition at World Wide Radio Summit on March 27-29 at Castaway in Burbank, CA. They will be required to demonstrate their world-class imaging skills by producing an original imaging piece for a format unannounced until the day of the competition. Contestants will use elements from one of Benztown’s 23 production libraries, voiceover talent roster, paired with a script from the Benztown team.
