SCA Head of News Operations, Natasha Jobson, today announced several news team appointments in Sydney and Melbourne, as SCA continues to invest in new talent for radio newsrooms nationwide.

The new appointments will focus on SCA’s expanded linear and on demand news offering.

In Sydney, Micaela Savage joins the newsroom as Drive Journalist. She comes to SCA from 2SM and will work with the Sydney news team creating on air news bulletins for 2Day FM and Triple M.

Loren Howarth joins the Sydney newsroom in the new position of News Writer, working closely with the 2Day FM team creating news content for The Morning Crew. She was previously a journalist with 2GB.

Siobhan Caulfield has been promoted and in addition to her breakfast news duties for Triple M Sydney, she will be second in charge for the Sydney news team.

In Melbourne, Celeste Mitsiou joins the SCA newsroom with several years’ experience at SEN, ARN and 2GB. She will provide breakfast journalist support on air across workdays on The Fox and Triple M.

Monisha Iswaran provides news support to all dayparts on The Fox and Triple M in Melbourne and was most recently with WIN Television in regional Victoria.

The new additions to the news team follow the appointment of Commercial Radio Australia (CRA) Brian White Scholarship 2020 winner Zac De Silva to SCA’s Albury newsroom.

Consumption of local news in the on-demand audio space has grown by 329%* year-on-year for SCA with more than 6.7 million news downloads, an average of 128,000+ downloads each week, driven by audience demand who want to know what’s happening in their own backyards.

Jobson, said: “We’re adding to our high calibre audio news team thanks to this continued growth and high engagement with our audience. From bite sized breaking news explainers to deep dives, SCA has the community covered via the LiSTNR app and the Hit and Triple M networks.”
