PodcastOne Australia has experienced its best month to date in October, with a 7% increase in unique audience on the previous month and a 177%* jump in unique listeners from March to October this year.
October was also the biggest listening month for SCA radio podcasts, with an increase of 72%^ year on year.
The record growth was driven by the increasing preference of audiences for screenless entertainment in comedy, sport, business, news, society and culture, and health and wellbeing.

PodcastOne Australia recently celebrated a number of wins at the Australian Podcast Awards. Matt & Alex: All Day Breakfast with Matt Okine and Alex Dyson were the major winners, taking out the ‘Moment of the Year’ award for their reaction to the Black Lives Matter protests. The judges noted: “Matt responding to the Black Lives Matter protests in that way is something that could only have happened on a podcast. It was a perfect example of why this medium is able to bring nuance and empathy to an issue in a way that you simply can't do in other forms of broadcasting."
PodcastOne Australia had a clean sweep of the Best Entertainment category with gold for Just the Gist with Rosie Waterland and Jacob Stanley, silver for Wellness Collective with Nat Kringoudis and Cecelia Ramsdale and bronze for Matt & Alex: All Day Breakfast. PodcastOne Australia also took the silver medal for Best Network or Publisher.
